Week 2 #4 Online Privacy

Growing up in the internet age has desensitized me to a need for online privacy. From the age of 12 I was taught to treat people online like I would treat strangers. I became cyberfriends with a few people from around the world and chatted with them daily. I still talk to some of them now, 12 years later. I do get paranoid about my privacy when it comes to my MySpace profile, however. I feel uneasy that anyone could be looking at me. MySpace has a cool feature that none of the news shows ever point out. If you want to make it so that only your friends can view your profile, all you have to do is edit your account. MySpace has at least 12 different privacy setting features for your account and your blog that are not utilized enough. Also, if you are under 16, no one can view your profile except for your friends.

With my online experiences during my teenage years, I think that profiling sites such as MySpace and Facebook however should not allow minors to even have profiles.

I tend to stay away from blogging, though, because I do not like not knowing who is reading my stuff. Yikes!

Week 2 #3 My learning style

I love my job. I know that I will never find it to be boring. I will always have something to do. I walk into a different job everyday. I meet new people everyday, see new books everyday, and face new challenges everyday. I have to be able to learn and function in an ever-changing environment that is known as the library. My learning style is best described as do-it-yourself. I have to do something in order to fully learn about it. I cannot just sit back and take notes. I have to physically try it on my own. Once I do try it, however, I am very quick to become good at whatever it is I've learned. I love my job because I learn new things everyday.
